ModeratorHad a call today, complaint of machine not starting or stopping quickly. Simple thinks I, new relay will sort that. On arrival I found it was a TDC60 with the electronic controls, just over 2 years old, which does not have the common relay. Machine was dead, checked all obvious through to the control switch etc, but could find no break in circuit, moved the dryness module a little and then heard a very faint ticking noise coming from the module, the motor then burst into life but there was no heat. I switched it off and after that, no matter what I did it would not run again, save for this faint ticking noise ❓ Heater and stats are OK.
I have changed a few of these modules, all for faulty heater relays sticking and keeping the heater on all the time. I wish I had saved one of the old ones, it would have been useful to use as a test module.
I am going down the new module route. Unless you know better, 😉

Had a TDC60 today which will not start. No lights nothing!
Checked switches, stats, wiring all ok.
Is it the selector switch or module at fault?
Any ideas
cheers.

Got TDC60 not heating. Went out, put on 20 mins. Sure enough, no heat. Got my green spot kit out 😯 ready but it wasn’t that 😕 . Got my front stat out ready but it wasn’t that 😕 . Element looks fine. Volts to element? Meter says, “no.” Machine was in outhouse and everything for miles around was covered in dust so I whipped out the module and brought it home and asked customer to give area a bit of a clean up if she wouldn’t mind.
What is it likely to be?

Was relay RT314024, the one on its own next to the blue transformer. Contacts inside were burnt black.
Farnell order code 162-9045 £2.74 each. Min. order £20 with free delivery.
They do a good range of tools so I bought myself a new copper faced hammer; long overdue – the head came off my old one the other day :duck: .
Thanks for the help.
