Unusual noise from built-in freezer?

This is a AEG-Elelectrolux Arctis built-in freezer, under 3 years old. When the compressor is running it makes a cycling sound, frequency steady but varying on different occasions between about 10 and 20 cycles per second. I don’t think we noticed this much in the past. Should the noise be a steady hum, rather than a cycling noise? The sound is not particularly loud, but a little intrusive. The freezer does maintain a steady correct temperature.

If I switch off, then on, it is silent, presumably compressor is off.

I am not sure whether I should call an engineer or just let sleeping dogs lie.

Any advice please?
