I have a problem with my Beko CDA 539. The freezer part starts to rise in temperature from around -20+ to -10 after a few months. I have to defrost it around every 5 months to get it back to normal. I open the inside back panel to expose the evaporator because the whole of the back area is covered in solid ice, the evaporator, the heating element, etc. I have to make sure this is fully defrosted before I switch the fridge freezer on again. The fan is never blocked or frozen at any point and is always in working order. The fridge part doesn’t seem to be affected by this
I last defrosted the fridge freezer a month ago and already it has risen in temperature to -10.
Is there any way I can fix this problem? Also it is dangerous to have all this ice there, especially around the electrics? Is this a fault of Bekos or can this happen to any freezer?

Probably an issue with the sensors, there’s loads on here about them somewhere.

Ice build up can be an issue though not inherently dangerous as such.

Ah…I have searched sensor in the forums and I see that its not an unusual problem! I will talk to the other half about wether to go to all the trouble of changing the sensor…we are not afraid of fixing things ourselves…but I think we will probably get a new one. Thanks for the quick reply Kwatt
