ParticipantJust seen on Comets website, a Bosch WFO2466 washing machine with this description included. ๐
PC update facility
Enables the machine to be reprogrammed electronically as new modifications are introduced by the manufacturerWhatever modifications would be needed, it’s only a washing machine? as far as I know you can’t get radio and tv programmes on it, or can you?

PS just had a thought

Perish the thought, you’d have to reboot on the third rinse ๐

Miele been doing this for ages. Enabling wash cycle to be lengthened extra rinse, longer fill if you have low water pressure etc etc. Good idea, extra revenue for agents. ๐

Looks good to customers when you get your laptop out and plug it in to their washing machine for 20 minutes, little do they know you are playing the penguin splatt game ๐

Haven’t Hoover/Candy got a gizmo that you plug in via a Laptop to test the later Inter@ct series machines?

Yes the Mรญele one has a nice optical device that sticks onto the “pc” led at the front of machine, sticks on with a simple sucker device, the machine can then be reprogrammed with updates etc, AEG also to the best of my knowledge use the same system, most of the Mรญele appliances use digital technology in their machines, the programme selector for instance works optically, there are no moving parts in it, the knob is totally separate from the board!
Also i think the pressure sw’ is a digital device!
The Germans seem to be at the forefront of technology that actually works, you’ll know what i mean if you’ve worked on some of the Far Eastearn stuff,
Anyhows the wonders of technology never cease to amaze me! -
