Uploading Pics

Now plaese go easy on me if this sounds stupid….. How do I upload photos to the forum?
I’ve seen links to photos on Flickr and the like which I assume is pretty easy to set up, but I’ve also seen photos directly on the forum and I can’t figure out how to do that.

I’m sure I’m missing something simple..

What is the best/easiest/preferred way to upload Pics?

I use Photobucket, then get the link from the photo (Given to you from Photobucket) in the following way:

A nice little tutorial HERE

I use Imageshack or sometimes host them on my own web space, all (most) ISP’s give you a certain amount of personal web space. That method is a little more involved but it does mean you keep complete control of the image.

If you read through any really old threads you will often find the image link is dead after a year or two if it has been posted to an image hosting site.

I Would like my own avatar Iv Managed to impose A Pic of my Van Over The front Of a Washing Machine which is Full Of Water With The door Bursting Open And My Van Riding The flood 🙂 .

Would it be posible to upload it as my avater

I would wait a couple of weeks Garn, some parts of the avatar upload system are borked, there are some exciting things in the pipeline, well worth waiting for. 😉

First decide what avatar you want (static pic or animated GIF). Bearing in mind it cannot be large than 80 by 80 pixels and a total file size no greater than 7.32kB (so pretty small overall).

Once you have such an avatar up and ready on your computer, go into your ‘User Control Panel’ here on UKW to ‘Edit your profile’ Click on ‘change avatar’ and up-load yours off your Pc. The thing is that only you can do it as only you have access to your profile. Mods cannot “shove it in for you”….. 😐
