We have a Kirby vac which has served us well for the past 20 years, but it is getting a bit heavy to carry upstairs.
I am due to retire from Hotperloni in December and move to N/E Scotland but in the meantime we require a new vac.
    Any reccomendations

I think the Oreck is one of the lightest but I could be
    wrong.

Anything will be lighter than a kirby. 🙄

As a good bagged machine (if your not as rich as Dell, and can’t afford an Oreck) I recommend the Panasonic. It’s a nice, light, reliable design, that hasn’t changed for the last 20ish years. All the bags are the same for the Panasonic upright range too, making finding them very easy. The only problem with Panasonic (IMHO) is that after-sales service sucks, so don’t break it.

    Latest one – MCE3001 – £70-£80ish.

If you are as rich as Dell, buy the Oreck!

Unless you want a bagless!!!! Thats a whole new essay.

I`m with GB on this one. We have sold loads of these over the last few years and the reliability is superb. The service backup here in Exeter is good, but sometimes the spares from Panasonic are a little slow.

Also good repeat buisness with bags and filter sales 😀
