ParticipantAfter reading Kevins comment to Neptune in the labour charge thread ,I wonder if there is any merit in sharing what our most heavily used parts are and what we carry on the van as stock ? .
Without doubt mine are Smeg oven elements x 10 of each type carried Servis pumps x5,all the creda one shot stat kits (seem to have fitted loads lately ) ,all the smeg thermocouples ,Smeg main oven thermostats and loads and loads of oven bulbs
I will think of some more but am packing for holiday so may come back later

Drain pumps and interlocks.
If they ever get the quality of these right, we’ll all be out of work.

I try to keep one pair of every type of carbon brush but you still get the odd ones where you have to solder a loose carbon into the old holder. Had one like that the other day, ancient Indesit with holders that had flanges/mounting holes top and bottom. Also try to keep one of each size of tumble drier belt but the sack seems to get fuller all the time as new ones appear.

Kinda difficult to say what spares are needed in advance but i find that the most popular machines in my area are Zanussi Hotpoint Creda AEG, i tend to carry a few door interlocks, door gaskets, door hinges, carbon brushes, for each machine. You do tend to use the same parts on a regular basis, i always have a large stock of those flimsy Hpt & Creda hinges & hinge bearings, hpt carbons, ceset brushes, askol pumps, hpt door gaskets which are wafer thin., i use an awful lot of Creda/Hpt oven elements also i find.,

As I seem to be meeting more and more Bosch Group Products these days, I would be interested to know part numbers of van stock items carried by established engineers who repair in the main, Bosch Home Laundry. Anyone Help?.
