Hopefully someone can help, I have a VAX Upright Cleaner model No:U90-P4-C, which unfortunately is outside its warranty. I stood on the lead and pulled one “leg” of the power cable out of its connection block which is within the casing of the vacuum. I have looked to see how you can disassemble the casing but cant find how to do this. I have checked the internet and there doesn’t appear to be any help for this model. The Vacuum is in perfect working order prior to the issue and I’m very reluctant to throw out for what I believe could be easily fixed.

    No easy way I’m afraid.
    Make sure it’s unplugged.
Remove the cleaner head assy (5 screws inc the one holding the height selector in).
    Remove belt.
Remove ‘C’ shaped metal retainers holding motor housing to soleplate.
Remove screws holding motor housing together.
You should then be able to access the damaged cable.
Please note this is not a definitive answer, but just off the top of my head from the last one I did.

Thanks for this help, I will have a look and see if I can follow your instructions. There are numerous You-tube videos on different cleaners but unfortunately not this one
