This is the semi integrated one with push buttons and a red LED display.
I came to use it one day a few weeks ago and found that the display failed to light up despite the mains plug being in and switched on. Checked the mains fuse etc. and confirmed power was there. Also after pushing the machine on/off button repeatedly, could hear a faint clunk from within the machine like a solenoid actuating, but nothing from display or any effect from the rest of the buttons. Tried a reset by simultaneously pressing the two relevant buttons to no avail.
Opened up the top section of the door housing to check switches etc.. Checked mains power present at on/off switch contacts with my meter. Nothing obviously wrong. Opened up te controller housing and found there was a component on the control module circuit board which looked fried. Bought a new control module (part no. 268594 at £114.21 ) hoping that it was a board fault and that not a domino effect from another fault.
Fitted the new module yesterday. On powering on, the LED lit up but failed to respond to the program cycle button until I reset.
After that all seemed to be well and I left it running an intensive wash cycle to clean the machine out (pretty smelly after three weeks down).
And then – disaster ! I returned maybe half an hour later to find the machine dead, in exactly the same state as before the new controller was fitted. Looks like something is causing the controller failure.
If the cause is an easy fix it’s probably still worth another controller (sob, sob).
I would greatly appreciate any and all help you may be able to give.
