Our venerable Indesit G74C condenser tumble drier is making an unbearably loud squeaking noise.

Does anyone know where I should start in trying to diagnose the cause of this?

    Thanks

Bearings and a jockey wheel if fitted would be the first places to look.

Can’t be that venerable, its a basic Hotpoint/Creda made machine.

It does have two jockey pulleys, found behind the right hand (from front) side panel, very fiddly to change, should always be changed as a pair.

Can be rear bearing or the brass earthing strip that sits on the rear drum shaft at the back.

Jockey pulleys are HERE if required.
