Viceroy VDIS4149 buttons unresponsive

The control panel buttons on this dishwasher all require holding for a very long time – often 30 seconds or longer – before responding.
We sometimes spend minutes just trying to get it to start – we don’t dare try such niceties as selecting the half load option.
Is there anything I can do – eg cleaning contacts or something – short of replacing parts? I’m also not sure what parts would need replacing.
Any help appreciated.

If you read this it may explain the lack of any helpful responses other than guesswork, and parts availability looks very doubtful. 🙁

Thanks. I’ve previously bought a small part from DMK, and oddly enough it looks like the only part they now stock for this model is some kind of control panel but there’s no description so I’m loathe to order it. It is listed as £0.00 though!
