ParticipantEach time there is a meeting planned at Coventry it is preceded with great fanfare and expectation. And at each meetings conclusion there is a wealth of praising testimonials from attendees the moment they return home. Those unable to attend wait expectantly of any developments each meeting has brought. So it’s all the more surprising then that not one word, from anyone, has filtered back to forums…….. 🙁

Most of it was meeting and whatnot and there were no big announcements other than that AWS has picked up the Nardi work and GE spares distribution. Which, BTW, is going to be given primarily to WTA members.
We did a bit on soft service in a presentation that most people seemed to find interesting in many regards, especially rebranding “customer service” in our industry to being more akin to “crisis management”. But without the more long-winded explanation given through the presentation I don’t know how much sense that will make to you.
Malcolm from Swift gave us an overview on the industry trends which, again, is largely lost without the delivery by presentation.
Updates on WTA progress with DEFRA, WRAP and other stuff as well.
But the stands were buzzing with activity. 😉

meeting was a bit more low key this year , not many announcements etc – but i dont think theres a lot happening at the mo.
its like the old saying “you gota be in it to win it” or something like that .
so really you have to attend to get the full picture.
ken do we have any info from the service management training ?

Got to be in it to win it? Sorry i am a WTA member so i am in it! I couldnt make the meeting due to work.
So any updates on the content would be warmly recieved, and i guess other members of the WTA would concur.

Please remember that the council members had to take at least 2 days away from their businesses to setup and attend this meeting. We now have to catch up on this work as it is our living. So if you couldn’t attend due to work then please be patient.

Very short on content IMO, Martin and Dr Dill you didnt miss out on much although Ken, Ian and Lawrence put on a good show as usual to be honest it could have been fitted into just the morning session. Swift guy is always interesting. And at least I did not see anyone fall asleep at any point this time. Trade stands were excellent however and I hope those attending found it worthwhile. I guess the evening bar sessions are where the most trade chat goes on but sadly I couldnt make either evening on this occasion. Thanks to all for their efforts in setting the whole thing up as without it this trade would be a very lonely place.
Lastly Martin, I dont think there was any “great fanfare and expectation” preceeding this meeting, it was very low key and barely promoted at all. -
