Have a hotpoint vtd20 dryer with the following fault – press the start button in an machine works ok (if its held in) but as soon as you release it the machine goes off any advice would be helpful thanks

I would get the full serial number and report back, a few changes made to the relay door lock setup on these. 😉

Hmm, that’s a very low serial number but if you are sure about it then you need a C00199423.

Took the relay board out and inspected it and found a capacitor missing ( dry joints on pcb)however on inspection of the dryer base in all the usual carpet of fluff is the said 0.68mfd capacitor ! cleaned it up and resoldered it in pcb and away it goes all ok thanks for the advice anyway
