ParticipantJust looking for ideas. This b/in d/w did not go wrong when tested on the same prog the customer always uses when I tested the thing 8 times!!. Course of events are as follows:o/let pump comes on as soon as started, then begins to fill, then makes, as described, a donk donk donk noise which can carry on forabout 20 seconds, but then the machine always pulls its finger out and stops this noise then carries on doing what it should to finish the programme it is set on. In other words I need a couple of ideas even though the bloody thing didn`t make any noises for me. my intial idea was the `askhole` type wash motor acting up but far too easy for it to do it when I was there; but is this noise common just before the thing gives up the ghost?. Do you think it could be the wash motor/heater unit. I`m well aware of the comical nature of this post so no smirking in the back ground!! Thanks

bit of a long shot considering the comical nature of the description
with ref to the donk donk noise is it the inlet valve ?i would tend to look at the programmer. If the power supply is a 1 or 1.5uf capacitor I would change that and see what happens
fault works like this machine turns on you select progamme and start ( power to board is low but just enough to power up ) as machine starts to fill the power needed in the board increases so the power supply cant handle it so board has not got power to maintain valve so turns it off (donk). when valve is off power rises so board turns it back on so it repeats
if power supply to board is switch mode then this may still apply but its not as easily fixable

had my own machine doing similar donk noises, which i thought was the dispenser door rattling 😕 ordered new one, still the same, took board to qer, no fault. after much muttering and swearing i changed ntc, and to my surprise donking noise stopped 😯 no idea why this should be ❓

had this m/c last week.it did this stuttering on circ pump and sometimes it would sort it self out and start and other times it would not carry on.removed circ pump and ran off fly lead and ran ok but very noisy. cust decided not to spend any money on it so never got to bottom of it.suspect circ pump.paul

prob with circulation pump is common changed one last week but that does not give the donk donk noise of the inlet valve opening and closing

Check the sump hose isn’t collapsing. Causes all sorts of problems.
