Hi ,this m/c is only about 18mths old, used in an office once maybe twice a week for coffee pots, it will go through a pre wash /rinse [prog 1] but any other ,it just fills then aborts/empties & flashes 11 times, looked on error codes forum & it says OWI fault, whats that when it’s at home? I’ve checked heater ,dispencer & cleaned that little black thing in the sump [fixed at about 3’o clock postion] with toothbrush as instructed for another fault, all to no avail! Any ideas ?
    Regards Chris…..

OWI is Optical Water Indicator. (the thing at three oclock that you cleaned)

The last one that I had looked fine but was definitely faulty.

So if it ain’t OWI are we looking at the pcb? Seems drastic at less than 2 yrs old!

Sios parts list gives the description “switch diaphragm (OWI)”.

    Hi
If you’ve cleaned the little black thing in the sump, you have met OWI.
You have to be careful not to puncture him, if you are happy that he is clean and un damaged then a replacement may be in order.Sometimes PCB can be faulty but OWI would be my first choice and cheapest 😀
If required he is p/no 481227128407

Is the diaphram indicator known as an OWI? I assumed the term referred to the optical one used on the all electronic beasts.

    Hi Bob
OWI is the optical glass looking one and the standard round honecomb one is referred as WI.

Cheers chaps ,I will order the OWI or WI whatever & give it a go . Just seems odd that it does a pre-wash /rinse ok!
