W1607W water inlet valve

Knowing how brilliant these machines are, does anyone know if it can cope with an amount of sediment in the water without clogging the filter too much too quickly and causing problems with the valve itself.

I have a customer who has had two new machines in the last two years and both have suffered with filters that clog and or valves that don’t shut properly because of this problem on her private water supply. Her previous machines never had this problem so it looks like its the ‘modern’ valve and filter that is struggling.

I have persuaded her to have a 1607 but I don’t know how sensitive the valve is to this. In the general forum I have asked about inline water filters as I installed one which was brilliant, about 18 years ago but the latest ones are really expensive and large so it would be good if the ISE could cope without additional filters.

I’ve no information that says that the valve on the 1607 is any different from pretty much anything else in that respect.

However private water, waste and power are always a problem. :rolls:

To the point where the advice for a while, especially in respect to electricity, is that the machines are unsuitable as the power isn’t stable enough. The very reason we have the three pin plug and a standardised system, stuff doesn’t work when it’s not standard.

I’ve not had the problem with water supplies but, to clog up that quickly the water must be really dirty and not being filtered as much as it should be. I can tell you that we’ve had zero other issues like this, anywhere, even on private supplies.

That may be the reason that you can’t find an inline filter, no demand for them as it really shouldn’t be a problem and I’d expect it was something to do with the way the incoming water is being treated or not.
