You just need the bearings and sealing cassette Mike if they are down, the drum seals with a small rubber seal into the cassette to stop the drum being damaged.
Fairly easy but it’s years since I did one, Mark and Robbie have done a few, certainly more than I have.
I’d be really surprised at that though as they pretty much never fail unless it’s being utterly spanked in commercial.
I have never done either a 1607/w256 or a 288 but assuming they are pretty much the same as the older 1606. There is a thread at the top of this forum. Although the outer tub spider looks completely different on these. In general, strip from the front, don’t be tempted to unbolt that rear bearing spider from the outer tub. (unless someone knows otherwise.)
