Hello all. I have a leak on my washing machine and wanted to know if it’s worth replacing? Given that the machine is nearly 19 years old, is it worth repairing or replacing?

I have tried getting to the chamber by it proved a hassle.

let me know your thoughts please!

    thanks

    sorry it’s a Miele w404 plus

Given Miele’s stance on spare parts and support (explained here), you’ve got pretty much zero hope of any spares for it from anyone other than Miele, at Miele prices, which will often bring tears to a glass eye as it were. Which 99/100 makes repairing older machines completely uneconomic to even consider.

And if you need to get Miele in to repair it, well, let’s just say that most people will feel that sorely.

It’s a huge shame that it is that way and I don’t agree with Miele’s philosophy but, it is what it is.

Hey. Thanks for the reply. The spare part from Miele was available at £60! Given the age etc I decided to replace in the end.

    thanks!
