I actually had a thought the other day and meant to post about it, forgot it, then remembered it again this afternoon so, lest I forget it again here it is.
It struck me, in light of the actions taken by certain Whirlpool agents, two recently have chosen not to reaffirm their allegiance to that company, Alex’s post about Euro West and my stance with GBDAR that there is usually somone clambering to get in on the act. However, before you do so do you ever think to yourself WHY the other agent walked away?
Think about it, if it were a money spinner they’d hang onto to it wouldn’t they? If it were easy work with little overheads they wouldn’t let it go, would they? No-one throws good work away, if you get the chop then that’s different (or it may be at least) but good steady contract work is hard to find, even harder paying a decent rate and is to be coveted by the agent, not thrown aside.
So the next time you’re asked to take on a contract it may well be worth a few calls in a bid to find out why you’re being offered it. Don’t trust the person offering the work in many cases, I’ll tell you now that you won’t get a straight answer, which is the polite version and they’re hardly likely to tell you the problems are they? 😉
