We’ve got a Neff V4380X0GB/13 that we inherited with the house. It’s been fine for the past few years, but has started walking during the spin cycle. It’s sitting on some wooden raisers that are secured to the floor & I’ve checked it with a spirit level & it’s nice & flat.

In the “Rectifying minor malfunctions yourself” section of the instruction manual one of the possible causes of this is given as “Feet of machine were not secured when machine was installed. Realign machine using spirit level, secure feet of machine according to installation instructions.”

I’m guessing from the fact that the machine never used to wander that the feet used to be properly secured and that either normal spinning, or a repair job we had done a couple of years ago that involved pulling the machine out, has broken the securing.

Unfortunately we didn’t get the installation instructions when we inherited the machine, so I’ve no idea how the feet are supposed to be secured.

Any ideas about how I can stop my roaming washing machine?

There is a locking nut on the screw thread of each foot. This should be tightened up to the casing of the machine. 17mm spanner required, I think.

Check the filter while you’re at it – if the machine can’t drain easily, excess vibration can occur on spin.

Thanks… I’ll give these a go. Looking at the feet it does look like the locking nuts just haven’t been tightened up at all, so hopefully five minutes with the spanner & I can stop having to shift the machine back into place every spin cycle!
