Hi Chris
Nice to hear from you again. No there is nothing new or mind blowing that has come out recently. So flex that plastic and get that Bosch you know it makes sense 😆

KeymasterOrdered! I will let you know how the delivery goes – scheduled for next Monday. Now all I need is a plumber. Oh yeah, does anyone know anything about vacuum cleaners…………..

KeymasterOK, so this is completely off topic but I am looking for a cheap (sub £100) cylinder type vacuum cleaner. Given the parlous state of my back as small as is still usable would be nice. Now Bosch do a nice looking one here

and I understand that Bosch and Miele are the top brands in the vacuuming world. i was considering a Numatic Henry because they consistently get excellent reviews but it might be a bit bulky. Anyone know whether you can use a Henry to suck up liquid spills? Other than that I have no preference regarding bag/bagless, aesthetics or pretty much anything else. Any and all help appreciated!
Peace

Hi Chris
I would go for the “Henry” everytime. A lot of tradesmen like chippies and sparkies use and abuse them and they still perform just as well. It is a very simple robust machine that has been very successful and has not changed for many years, We still sell more of these than any other cylinder cleaner. It comes with full range of accessories, stainless steel tubes and a choice of colours. For wet pick up though you would need the “Charles” which is slightly taller than the Henry.

KeymasterOK, so a quick delivery report. I used coopelectricalshop to order, since I couldn’t find anywhere in my local area to get the Bosch independently. Guy was very friendly on the phone and setup delivery for a few days later. Delivery chaps delivered in the time slot they were due to deliver in and had phoned me about 30 minutes earlier to check that I was in. Delivered it, unpacked it, waited until I had unscrewed the transit bolts and even helped push it into its hole for me. Took a couple of days for the plumbing to get done but fired it up last week and have done 2 loads and some drying since. Its quiet enough but not super quiet. I’m not sure I wouldn’t like to put on a wash just before I went to bed – but I am a good neighbour and don’t like to do that anyway. So all in all, I was very happy with the vendor and I am adequately happy with the washing machine. I’m sure over time I will appreciate the washing machine more – until they can collect up the washing, load themselves and do the ironing they’re just not very inspiring I guess,
