We currently have a 15 year old integrated White Knight tumble dryer that has never failed or had a single issue.
We’re now moving and looking for a replacement, as we have to leave “old faithful” here 🙁

We definitely want a vented dryer, but cannot find a single one on the market that is integrated !!!

Looking at eBay, we found a nearly new Baumatic BTD1 yesterday, but it sold for £280 which I think is actually more than it cost new!

Does anyone have any advice on finding an integrated vented dryer, or are they simply not made anymore?
    Thanks!

Nobody makes them now and that BTD1 is not nearly new, probably a decade old.

The Baumatic dryer was also made by white knight but with spares now getting rare is not a good buy at that price

No vented ones anymore I’m afraid. Hoover / Candy produce heat pump models as do Montpellier.

I have heard in the next five years or so vented and condenser dryers will gradually disappear.

Thanks everyone – this makes sense.

Frankly it’s a shame, the vented ones dry a lot faster, and are simple machines that seem to last, and are easy to repair.

I get that heat pump is A++ efficiency, but they’re 2-3x the price and take twice as long to dry !!

I’m tempted to go for freestanding vented – as it seems a few are still available new, but I assume you’re all saying that given the decline of venteds, spares will become harder to find in future, and it’s inevitable that we’ll all end up with HP machines??

I agree with your sentiments entirely about vented but it’s all about being as green as you can be which is the main reason behind heat pumps. There has been no timescale set as yet as to their demise so I would buy one while you can.

If I was you I would avoid the curse of the heat pump for as long as is possible and let the techo brigade buy them first and go for a free standing vented but not a Hotpoint or Indesit – simple machines with an electromechanical timer ( that is good! ) but with a crap rear bearing design ( that is bad! ). The Montpellier vented dryer use the same brand Electriq does ( given their company reviews I very much doubt there will be spares from that lot ) and Currys Logik all 3 really being Vestel tumble dryers as far as is known. There is Bush from Argos for 160 quid too, think that is vestel too. Beko vented tumble dryers I seldom get called out to, if you want to go a bit upmarket there is a Zanussi for 300 quid. I myself would avoid Bosch tumble dryers vented or otherwise.
Heat pump tumble dryers can be reliable but they are all rather complex what with an inverse fridge unit and computer controlled….trade should be storing up future fun and games there! Personally I think HP it is a stupid idea but then that is just my opinion.
