ParticipantCan anyone advise of a low wattage washing machine suitable for use in a static mobile home in a caravan park. The wattage to each static site is limited (don’t know limit) but they were advised by owner of park to buy a “Low Wattage Washer”. I guess something with a 800w heater or summit like that!

Am I right in thinking that those big, American style, Whirlpool, top-loaders have no heater? They’re in-efficiant with the water, but the electric consumtion should be low.
Besides that, tell them to get down to the river, and find a nice rock to slap their clothes against.

Customer says she has seen cold water machines in action & that they don’t really clean clothes properly, there is still residue of soap powder (white specks) left on garments. Perhaps one of these new ultra-sound machines that are being developed (that don’t even use water) would suit her.

Yes, but they may not fit through the door of a mobile home 😆
I would however doubt what the site owner is saying. If this is a permanent dwelling then surely the electrical installation should be equal to a brick built house shouldn’t it ?

Depends on whether it’s a residential or holiday home park.
Some holiday home parks only have “tourer” hook up points for the statics and they take the statics off site at the end of the season.
(I used to have one 😛 ) They’re still 240v but may only be a max of 13 amps or less. (Cheap installations)Brian

Oh yeah!
I remember installing a Bosch WFO2466 in a mobile home.
We had to remove the top panel, the door (including hinge) and the control knob. 😆
I think the door was only 19′ wide.
And Iadom, £30 for a washboard!!!!! Tell ’em to get a big stick and an old tin bath.

I had my washer and dryer in a bunker at the back of my caravan. The floors in most statics aren’t strong enough for a washer and need reinforcing.
Residential models normally have the reinforcing installed at manufacture.Brian
