ParticipantHi this as probably been covered many times but any advice would be appreciated, i have a old prima lpr255 fridge freezer, compressor works comes on and off, freezer very cold but fridge to warm, i realise the original thermostat is no longer available but not even sure if this is faulty, so scratching my head what the problem could be, thanks

Moderatorsince the compressor is going on and off and the stat is in the fridge it seems likley it may be faulty. I assume you have turned it up to the highest setting
have you measured the freezer temp to make sure its within spec
and are you sure compressor is going on and off ?stat looks like it may be available. from the research i did it looks like there may be 4 stats in the site shop that may fit but would need the 12nc number to confirm as there are 6 units with the same model. number look like 8539 759 15000

Moderatorthermostat gen part no 4819 271 29054
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/a13-0447-fridge-freezer-thermostat
at that price its worth a try as it does sound like the stat is turning things off too early from what you stated

ParticipantThanks for that i realise i will need to adapt the original wiring so this item would fit is that a difficult job im fairly useful at DIY I’m joiner by trade, thanks there is also a local electronics company who say would look at the original part but they will probably charge around £50 so if its easy to adapt new thermostat could be a better bet
