ParticipantHi, I have a 7 year old Hotpoint mistral FF92 fridge freezer, the freezer is fine @ -22, but the fridge is +18, looking at other posts it may be the thermistor that needs replacing, can any one advise which one needs replacing (I understand there are three) and were will I find the right one to replace, is it an easy enough job, my neighbour is an electrician but knows very little about fridge freezers.
Many thanksSeptember 3, 2007 at 7:40 am #226443Martin
ParticipantRe: Warm Hotpoint FF92 Fridge,
Use the ‘Search’ button and in the ‘Keywords’ section type MISTRAL AND THERMISTOR.
You might need one of these 😉

KeymasterHi Auntie,
I deleted the other thread you started, can you keep it to one thread for one problem as it saves an awful lot of confusion.
What Martin is saying is that there is slews of info on here on how to change the thermistors if you have a poke about but you will need to read through quite a lot of information. There are no step-by-step instructions as such available.

Excellant and speedy parts delivery from Whitegoods, both Thermistors green and yellow arrived am fitted by 1pm switched back on and went out, have come home 8.30pm freezer only showing -16, fridge still on +18, am I being impatient, will the fridge temp go down once the freezer reaches -22, I can hear a fan on in the freezer but nothing blowing into the fridge, just thrown away milk and yoghurts!!! Any one got any ideas on what else I can do, have read endless threads, now even more lost.
🙁 Thanks.September 4, 2007 at 8:13 pm #226448Auntie
ParticipantRe: Warm Hotpoint FF92 Fridge,
Further to my last post……should I of switched off and de frosted for 24 hours prior to turning back on? At the moment the fan in the base is working all the time but feels like it is blowing out cold air. the seal is good on the freezer door, opening the fridge door and flicking the light switch makes no difference to any fan, fridge still at +18.

Freezer has been on FF over night checked temp at 6am this morning just showing -21 fridge still +18, fan still running in base still feels like cold air coming out.
😕
Is it time for an engineer or a new f/f !
Thanks for any helpSeptember 5, 2007 at 5:59 am #226450Auntie
ParticipantRe: Warm Hotpoint FF92 Fridge,
Sorry folks now found that the top shelf of the freezer is not as cold as the rest temp shown is -21, there also appears to be no cold air blowing out of the top vent at the back inside of the freezer, but the fan still runs in the bottom area which I have hoovered all the fluff out of.
I can feel the need for an engineer unless someone has some ideas.?

Participantwas it full of ice when u put the thermistors on?
a 24 hr defrost might help
if the fans running, the fridge should get cold, subject to blockages.. id go down the 24-36hr defrost route before i panicked!!

ParticipantRe: Warm Hotpoint FF92 Fridge,
Not alot of ice, I think the freezer has now packed in as the fan underneath has stopped running and the temp has gone to -18, I can still hear gurgling sounds, the engineer is coming Friday PM, not going to be able to save the load of stuff in the freezer…..cant eat anymore I’m stuffed.!!!
