ParticipantHello
I need some help/ advise.
I have just been gifted a Hotpoint Style FDYB11011P Dishwasher as my friend is emigrating.
It worked fine at her house, but I just can’t get it to work.
I takes in water and then empities it out straight away with the on/off button, rinse aid and salt button flashing. The machine is not even wet inside. It is defo tacking in water as I had my ear pressed against it listening 😛
It empties, than takes water in after 45 sec for approx I min 15 sec before the lights start flashing……..he is then emptying and will not stop unless I turn him off.
I checked the water pressure and pipes , it’s all working fine. The sieve is clean I can’t see any blockage, it level etc
What else can I do? 😥
Many thanksMarch 28, 2018 at 5:50 pm #455042electrofix

when these led are flashing it indicates a fault
the fault code is then on the other 3 led’s
there are 3 led’s wash, drying and end
I need to know which of these lights are on and offDave

pressure switch fault
there is an air operated switch in the machine that detects water height. the machine has put 2.5 litres of water in but it is not detected by the switch
is the drain hose too low ? if it too low water will flow out by gravity and cause this

Thanks Dave
It may have been when I first installed it but should be ok now as I switched it with the washing machine.
How can I fix this?Sonja

its difficult unless you understand the systems
I take it you have tried it again since the hose swop
also if the outlet hose is in a station pipe make sure it is only pushed in about 8 inches. If its pushed to the bottom and dips in the water it can cause problems
the switch we are talking about is an air operated switch inside the machine. it has an area which catches air to operate it and this can become gunked up and need cleaning. The switch itself may be faulty, it may be bad connections to the control board that have come loose in transit

Many thanks 🙂
Yes I have tried it since then and no joy
I am not working on Sunday and will give it a shot, see if I can find this switch.
You have been a great help, thanks again -
