ParticipantHi,
Recirc motor not functioning.Water fills then sometimes the recirc motor will start and then stop after 5-30 seconds.
If the door is opened then shut again a click noise (relay I resume) from the control board is heard with a corresponding ‘thump’ from the recirc motor but no actual motor action.
If program is cancelled and then immediately a new program started, it fills to correct level but no further action is witnessed as above. Wait five or so minutes then start new program and this time similar action takes place as in para 2 and 3 above.
Is it motor – no indication it should be, is it control module – no obvious damage on boards, could it be the rectangular start capacitor – doesn’t seem to be supplied as separate part on Connect.
Connect recirc motor – 5045174366472
Connect boards – 5045176312224

Thanks in anticipation…
Laurence

need to get a volt meter on the motor plug see if the feed is dropping out after the 30 secs or so. (not easy on these I know) If cap then motor will hum so should be obvious. (can replace that cap with standard shape one, usually a spare hole in the back for mounting)

Thanks Eastlmark,
Tried new standard (4mf) capacitor. Didn’t make any difference and motor is not humming. Difficult! Very definitely.
Trying to reason this, if 230v remained after it stopped it would likely overheat the motor or give some indication – humming etc?

could be either an overheat stat clicking off and breaking the circuit or just a bad connection in the motor somewhere. If its got a constant 230 voltage and not running then it has to be the pump.

Hi Eastlmark,
Have been back and checked voltage. Easier to access than I thought and even more so with a couple of extension crocodile clip leads from Maplins.
First try and motor ran ok and was able to see which was live terminal. Cancelled program after approx 20 secs. 2nd go and the motor operated for a second, reading peaked at 159v then zero. 3rd try and motor sluggishly started for a couple of seconds, reading peaked at approx 167v then dropped to zero.
Each time, the motor responded coincidentally as a relay on the module operated. I can hopefully therefore assume the board is the culprit.
Thanks for your input..
Laurence
