ParticipantHi there,
Basically, on any wash program (except “quick”), my Bosch will quit out of the cycle midway and the display will read “0”.
Initially, I put this down to a drainage problem – open it in the morning, find water in the bottom… drainage to blame! So I performed all the recommended steps for that sort of thing and it *seemed* to fix it.
It was only later than I noticed it would (ocassionally) get about 30 mins into a program, then just drop to “0” time remaining and stop; hence the water in the base.
The drain override still works, and that’s what I’ve been doing when it goes awry – drain, then select the quick wash to finish it off.
So I’m guessing either the module’s dying (expensive), or something’s tripping it up (hopefully cheaper).
I’ve had it about 12 years now.
Thanks for any advice,
Steve

Lack of heat can cause the programme to drop out.
Check that the water level is reaching halfway up the salt cap. If it isn’t, check the transfer pipe in the front left hand corner of the machine and the pressure switch assembly under the left hand side panel for fat deposits.
If it is reaching the right level, the heater itself may be faulty or the printed circuit board may have a burnt out joint at the heater relay. These early digital machines were quite prone to this problem.
If all that checks out, yes, the pcb may have bought it.
Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself, please.

Update time.
No deposit build-up on the components mentioned. But now the dishwasher is cutting out a lot earlier, usually after a couple of minutes, and the entire display switches off. It then refuses to activate until several minutes later, but even then only to display “0”.
Total electrical meltdown?
I inspected the various components under the control panel at the front (after wall switch off), and there weren’t any obvious breaks or burn-outs.
Is there a way to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure it’s the control module that needs replacing, aside from bringing in an engineer?
Thanks again,

Forgot to say, when it does get going, it heats the water fine.

I’d be tempted to try it in a different socket……. Failing that something is probably amiss with the pcb.
