๐Ÿ˜• I purchased this machine 6 Dec 03 as part of my Kitchen package and until Thursday 22 Apr 04 it has been performing normally. It is now tripping my Main house sockets auto fuse panel when going into the rinse/spin mode. I tried to contact (08457-959722) today (25/04/04) but the line is continuously engaged tone?? Prior to trying tomorrow to arrange for an engineer, as I think the washing machine motor is now faulty with a electrical or mechanical problem, when it requires to draw power for rinse/spin. Any suggestions or are my conclusions about right?
P.S. I found this site by using the Google search on 08457 959722 phone number.

    Hi Donald,

The likely suspects are the motor, pump or module and not nesessarily in that order but any one of them could cause the fault described. There are other possibilities but they are the most obvious.

My experience is that MFI are a decent company and I do carry out service on their behalf, but they sort these problems pretty quickly once you get through to the call centre. It’s actually one of the better call centres to get through to as I use that number to call MFI as well. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks “Kwatt” for the info. I will try the contact phone No tomorrow (Monday 26 Apr 04) and hopefully get through and book an engineer for a visit.

P.S. Where or who can I contact to extend my Washer/dryer warranty as I was only supplied with a years guarantee under the purchase.

You can extend the warranty through MFI Extracare pretty easily, just ask them when you’re on the phone to them and I’m sure they will be able to advise accordingly.

Engineer (Agency on behalf of MFI) arrived pm today (27/04/04). He checked Module, pump & motor with his meter and could not find any fault. He then tried an empty machine on rinse/spin, no fault occurred. On trying with some washing to load the machine, it tripped on rinse/spin as I had reported. The Engineering is ordering a new motor as the machine tripped when the motor was about to undertake โ€œitโ€™s final cycle before going into spinโ€ and will return with new motor. Hopefully this will fix the problem, thanks for the information and help.
