Have a Hotpoint WD40 and the dryer appears to be beclhing hot air in the right places, but the clothes are soaking wet.

Someone said it’s the condenser unit, someone else said the pump which removes the water is gone. Anyone know what it’s likely to be?

Is it something just needs cleaning/clearing, or if not how much would a Hotpoint engineer charge…? Cheers!

It could be either in a condensor dryer. The condensate chamber could be blocked or the pump, to remove the water, could be failed or stalling therefore not removing the moisture. There are a couple of other things it could be, but they’re the likely suspects.

See if anyone is listed in your area in the directories in the main nav panel to the left, if not pop up your postcode area and we’ll see what we can find for you. Most of the guys here will ba a fair bit cheaper that Hotpoint will be. 😉

There is not a DIY solution to your dryer problem but nevertheless something that can be sorted very reasonably for you. 😉

“Basingrad?” Do I take it you are from the Basingstoke area by that alias? If so then I can surely help 🙂

i had that problem and it is the fluff from the clothes has clogged up the pipe. What we are not told when buying one of these is they are not designed to be used to often.I used mine once a day and was told that was too much. You have to take the top off and you will c a big plastic dome shape and it is probably full.

We do not condone the last post by suggesting one simply lifts the lid to gain access, although thank the postee for the observation 🙂

We do however recommend that washer dryers be serviced occasionally ONLY by an experienced person, such repairs are NOT a DIY fix!
