Participant:rolls: Hi I have a washer/dryer Bosch WFT 2800.
The dryer bit does it stuff but the heater does not work~hence the clothes never gets dry! 😥
The engineer has been & all he needed to do was to take the top off & press the reset button…
However this reset button often needs re-pressing & it’s a bit of a pain ‘cos the whole machine needs to be pulled out from under the units.
What could be the reason for this ? Could there be a fault with Overheating?
Would taping down the reset button into place cause a problem!

Would taking the battery out of a smoke alarm because the noise annoyed you, or would putting a piece of tape over the oil warning light in your car because it was shining in your eyes cause a problem…need I go on, 😉 😀
you must not do this under any circumstances. Any subsequent damage to the machine or indeed your house should a fire ensue would not be covered by guarantee or insurance. If you are certain that you are not stopping the machine mid cycle to check on the clothes, or if the drying cycle is not being interrupted in any way before it has finished, then you must insist on an engineer coming to check this machine out. There can be several reasons for the safety stat to trip depending on the type of machine.Jim.

🙂 Yeap Jim~ I was just testing (i realised that taping any thing down that was a safety release would cause no end of problems! 😆 )
sometimes when a few towels are in & they stick around the sides of the drum causing the machine to “jump”
This I think causes the reset button to flip out of place!
I have called an engineer (I have insurance) & he laughed when it only needed this reset button to be pushed! He said it was not a “fault” but this time he report it as a fault so that I could claim call out insurance…
Very iffy… 😕December 3, 2006 at 1:45 pm #196850iadom

The only time out of balance would cause this switch to trip would be if the switch itself was loose internally, almost completely unheard of. It trips when the temperature has risen above the manufacturers set safety level.
