I have a Hoover WDM120 washer/dryer which gets occaisional use as a dryer. It’s not very effective but it does work. When it dries water leaks out at the front left adjacent to the pump. I have checked the pump connections but they appear to be ok and secured by the clips. It does not leak when washing, only when drying. Any ideas?
Thanks for your helpOctober 6, 2006 at 1:32 pm #190976Martin

It could be the condenser inlet hose is leaking or the condenser unit is blocked with fluff (more likely) 😉
Water leaks and electricity should always be dealt with very cautiously indeed. Never persist in using an appliance you know to have a leak as that is extremely dangerous. Switch it off, unplug it from the supply and call in a local engineer to take a look at it for you. (See link below for one!) 🙂

Thanks for the feedback. Where is the condenser unit and how is it cleaned of fluff? The drain at the bottom front of the machine is clear.

😀 For completeness I can report that the fault of leaking when drying rather than when washing, is down to a split duct pipe which runs from the double cold water solenoid to the condenser unit. Only during the dry cycle water is sprayed into the condenser via this pipe to cool down and condense water from the returning hot air from the drum. This condensate is then returned to the pump via the drum for ejection. I guess that this water spray also removes fibres from the hot air and so enables the condenser to remain fluff free. So it was during this water spraying that the duct pipe leaked and put water on the floor.
