Hi. We are having a kitchen fitted and I would like a fully integrated washing machine. I am having a baby in Feb and thought that a tumble dryer may then prove VERY useful! I don’t have a seperate utility room and don’t want to loose cupboard space to another white good.
So I thought a washer/tumble dryer would be a good idea. But many people have made negative noises on this combi.
Any ideas? Am thinking a german make around £500?? or do I need to spend more? I wouldn’t be using the dryer that often and we do have radiators so I guess I could loose the dryer if it is really not a good idea.
have never had a dryer so won’t miss it but thought may be useful for the nappies (yes – going old fashioned route!!)
Also is there a problem with air duct for dryer if intergrated? Does it need to have flue to outside? Don’t want a damp kitchen and don’t want to risk warping new solid oak units!!!
    Thanks
    Rachel

Re: washer/tumble dryer – best to avoid?

All washer/dryers are self condensing so no additional venting is required.

As you have found out with your research, they are not by a long shot as efficient at drying as a seperate dryer. But considering your budget, go for something like a Bosch/Neff/Siemens (all the same product essentially) or push the boat out and go for a Miele 🙂

    Hope this helps.

    Dave.
