Washing Machine DNY 7144 DIX – Hoover

The door on the machine when viewed from the front exposes at the position 9 o’clock an oblong opening which seems to expose the hinge. It obviously follows the circular shape of door.

My wife for some reason has never noticed this aperture and insists that there was a plate covering this aperture. I think she has just never noticed it!! I certainly have not, if I had done I would have suggested that it was to prevent young children getting fingers very painfully trapped or worse. There is no sign of any bit of plastic that could have fallen out.

The machine is under warranty still, but I don’t believe that an engineer will be thrilled at wasting his time coming out.

WW2 going on here.I can take being wrong but want to be sure before the engineer gets booked.

Sorry if this sounds silly but can anyone offer advice.

think you may have model number wrong

but

i would search the net some sellers put various pictures on that may help you
or have a day out at currys to check

Model number copied off machine. Maybe the in DIX I should have printer ‘ONE’. I have search and found approximate pictures which may suggest I am right; trouble is the model was black and the picture, although in HD was not clear…. black door black and dark shadow. I may wander into Curries tomorrow and see.

Probably a DYNS 7144 DIX or a trip to Specsavers.
