Hi, excellent and helpful site !!

I am buying a new washing machine, and am after anyone’s opinion’s on what brands or makes have good quality door handles.

In Australia where I am from most machines are top-loaders so there’s no handle mechanism on the doors. But on front-loaders used more often in Britain, most of the door handles in the machines in rented houses I’ve been in have either been broken and imaginatively repaired 🙂 or break easily. Sure they probably get overworked in rented houses but it has made me cautious on getting one that is more robust.

Another friend had his brand new door handle break within two weeks, so it’s not just ruthless tenants causing this problem 🙂 . My current handle – broke 5 times – was two thin bits of plastic and wire when you looked behind the plastic cover of the door, and it was easier eventually to open and close it with a screwdriver.

So – I’m looking for a brand or type of door handle that is a bit more sturdy and less likely to snap.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

To be honest Pen we don’t often see them until they are broken so the model may well be discontinued by then.

As a rule though, the more you pay the better you’ll get, stick with a Bosch or a Miele and you won’t go far wrong.

    Dave.
