Washing machine door seal replacement

The rubber door seal on my Bosch classixx 1200 has a tear in it and i need to replace it.
I have found a replacement on the net that fits the bill matching the model number marked on the door.
Can anyone give me any advice on changing the seal. Is it an easy job?

Fiddly job – patience required mor than anything. Easiest way is to take the front panel off the machine for best access.

Power off, of course.

I have found a spare on this site so shall replace it after xmas. In the meantime, would it be possible to ” turn” the seal so that the tear is at the top? …..it may lessen the leak as a temporary fix. ….how do you undo the tension band around the seal?
