ParticipantI am buying my first flat and need to buy a washing machine. I am a first time buyer so also need to but lots of other items, meaning my budget is probably around £350. I would love to spend more on a washing machine which would last 10 years, but buying fridge freezer, bed, mattress, sofa, vacuum cleaner (basically kitting out a whole flat) means I just can’t afford it at the moment.
I have been browsing shops and the internet and reading reviews and and hove no idea what would be a good buy. I am a one person household, washing between 1 and 3 loads a week. I don’t need a particularly large drum, or a ridiculously fast spin. Having read advice on this site, I would want a machine without a sealed drum. I need a wool cycle.
I was looking at the Bosch Classixx range, but they don’t seem to have a load sensor or half load setting, is this right? There will be times when I will wash less than a full load so I though I needed a sensor or at least a half load setting – am I right in thinking this?
I also had a look a Zanussis as they had reasonable reviews elsewhere on the web, but have read some bad things on this forum about them. Can anyone recommend some machines at all?

To add to my confusion I have now come across various Bosch Maxx machines e.g. http://www.appliance-reviews.co.uk/p/Bo … 63/reviews
Would this one be better or worse than the Classixx?January 19, 2014 at 8:53 am #407834Martin

Thanks for this.
I have found 4 different versions of the Maxx 7 – the one I linked to the WAE28461GB is avaiable at various places for £299.
The other 3, the WAE24461GB, the WAE24490GB, and the WAE28490GB are all more expensive, ranging from £320 to £430. I know that the WAE24…s have a 1200 rpm spin and the WAE28…s have a 1400 rpm spin, but other than that I am struggling to see what other differences that are as they all appear on different websites.
Is there anything about the WAE28490 which justify me finding the extra money to pay £430 for it, instead of getting the WAE28461 at £299? Do the 1200 rpm ones have anything worth paying extra for? Is there any reason not to just go for the cheapest of the four?
Thank you

Maybe look at graded stock ie. Cosmetic damage to sides or top which will be hidden once in your kitchen you may save that way
