washing machine life spans

hello all

thanks for your help wioth the instructions for my ariston margherita 😀

i have had the machine since 2004 and i wash everyday. I have 4 children.
The dial keeps clicking round and round mid cycle. I have looked on the forum and this seems to be quite common for washers with dials.

i am not sure if this is cheap to repair or whether its better oof buying a new washer.

how long are washers made to live nowadays? i know my mother had one for nearly 20 years when i was little but i think thye aren’t as well made now.
