My washing machine has packed up and I have £700 from JL to use for another washing machine from them.

I have narrowed my decision to the following 3.
My current washing machine is used for a family of 2 adults and 2 children (3 children in the future).

I am keen on the Miele WMG 120 as it has some great sounding tech regarding automatic dose where it stores detergent and fabric conditioner for around 3 months within the machine and applies it to the load depending on weight and wash…
However the AEG has some good options as well for £400 cheaper or £300 cheaper after cash back..

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi

Miele are without doubt the best you can currently purchase when it comes to quality of build. The only downside is that you are committed to service by Miele as they do not share any tech info with the independent sector so help is harder come by, also the price of spares is much higher after the guarantee period.

AEG information on the other hand is easier to obtain and the cost of spares are more realistic in price. However the machine will not last as long as the Miele.

So really it’s six of one and half a dozen of the other :rolls:

    HTH 🙂

    Thank you for the response.

The Miele comes with a free 5 year guarantee with an option during the 5 years to pay £149 and upgrade to a further 3 years.

With that in mind which Miele would you go for. The more expensive of the 2 has the auto dosing feature however not sure if it is as good.

Oh and the AEG is apparently very efficient (more efficient) with water and electricity than both Miele’s…

The Miele has a potential lifespan longer than the 8 year potential guarantee having paid for the extra three. You will still be in the same boat as I have previously said.

Less twiddly bits is better in my opinion 😉

If you were to work out the the actual cost comparison of the leccy knowing how much you pay per kw hour it does not add up to much. Again with the water you need to compare by the kg capacity and the number of cycles per week.

The Miele WDA210 has all the features you would ever need and comes with a 10 year warranty.

Agreed however the drum size may be a little too small for our family size.
For a family of 5, we was thinking of a minimum of 8kg (currently we have a 9kg drum) and it just a about gets full

Some info here on load sizes,
    6kg is plenty

The Miele is a top quality German made appliance, the AEG is a rebadged Zanussi.

If I had the choice between a BMW,Audi, Merc v a rebadged Fiat I know which I would chose. 😉
