First of all, thank you to the site creators for opening my eyes to the world of white goods purchases.

I am looking to buy a washing machine and a separate tumble dryer. I have been looking at the 8-9kg range so that it can fit my duvet.

We are 2 adults, and will eventually get kids in the coming years.
We currently do about 6 washes per week (4 for clothes, 1 for towels, 1 for cleaning rags).
I was going for a Samsung Series 5 Ecobubble and a Series 6 Tumble Dryer (mainly because employer benefits let me buy both for £1000). How are Samsung appliances these days? People around me are recommending them, but the articles here seem to bash them.
I would set my budget around £1500 for both? I only need 5-8 years life from them.

Six loads a week you need to look at Miele.

Samsung only support the big boys nothing comes our way at all regarding tech. Spares can be long winded and no support available either.

There are quite a few threads in this forum over the last week or two in this forum here happy reading!!

How about tumble dryers? I understand the guide says a lot about heat pumps being generally not worth the price, but all I can find shopping around are heat pump dryers. With the occasional sub£300 condensor dryer. I can’t fit a vented dryer unfortunately, and can’t rely on a clothes line because of limited supply of work uniforms (hence the regular washes).

spend extra on a washer (series 6 bosch or miele) and we have a cheap logik vented dryer, works great and is a sensor dry model

Vented and condenser are slowly disappearing so you will only be able to purchase heat pump dryers eventually, the tech has got better and prices are coming down a little. Like all dryers they do need to be maintained correctly.
