ParticipantRight then I’m looking for a washer and would like some suggestions. I have a budget up to £400 and idealy it needs to be a silvery colour to match kitchen!

Hi Gooba
Here you go WAE2446 silver It`s the same as P45`s but in silver and it should come in on budget. Much better than the Hotpoint Graphite models and all those other nasty makes.

Perhaps we need to rename the forum to avoid claims of discrimination. :rolls: 😆
Kitchens with silver or god forbid black machines look so dark and dingy compared to good old WHITE goods. IMHO of course. 🙂

The thing I notice with all the coloured machines, other than perhaps the exception of silver/graphite, is that after a few months they can start to look a little tacky for some reason. After a couple of years they just look grubby if you ask me most times I’ve seen them in the field.
I dunno Why, they must just be harder to keep looking clean and fresh.
They also go out of fashion very quickly and can just be an absolute eyesore in the wrong surroundings.

Oh God yes! :rolls: – I think they were around about £199.99 mark and we also used to stock the Nostalgia Range Twin Tub which was around £399? I would imagine given the utter trash they were, they are all long gone on the way to SITA.
When Snot Green Kettles came out, (Morphy Richards you have a lot to answer for!) we prayed in our showroom that Servis wouldn’t bring a one of that colour out. It was bad enough being pestered by kids for a Servis Quartz Frog.
Now it’s black that is en Vogue? , why no go the whole hog and have a Sky Blue Pink with Yellow Dots One or even better a Tartan Paint One! Whinge….Mutter…..Moan!
White for me Every time……apart from me cooker as it’s Chrome.

There was a colour that was supposed to be the ‘in’ colour at the beginning of the 70’s, cars, clothes and even the Hotpoint twin tub, it was a garish mustardy yellow colour.
Also the ‘Light & Easy’ vac came in seven or eight different colours.
I built one up for myself from all the various options, it was unique to say the least, a crappy machine though.
Jim.
