Hey was wondering if some one might be able to help.

We got a hotpoint washing machine fitted yesterday, and it can do anything up 50 degree washes fine but as soon as we select anything higher it doesn’t do anything.

when it was fitted he only installed the cold water hose onto the back and not the hot water one saying that the machine will heat the water and so the hot one isn’t needed ?

is it possible that without the hot water hose the washing machine is struggling on a 60 to heat the water or is it something else that may be causing it ?.

    thanks for any help. Kevin

    Hi

Hot water hose needs to be connected , when on 60 deg wash or higher is selected it starts to fill with cold then changes over to hot water fill .If hot not connected machine will not advance as it is waiting for more water to be added. So connect hot water hose.

Two points – does the washing machine have hot and cold connections on its rear? If so you will need a hot and cold water feed to make it work above 60C (washing machines generally with two inlets hoses fill through both hot and cold on a 60C wash and through the hot supply above this temp on the wash program) If it only has one connection at the back you have a fault with the washer.

Is this a new machine ❓

➡ If the machine has both pipes fitted check that the Hot is actually turned on… Another thing is… If it is turned on, make sure that the pipe connection is actually creating a flow, sometimes the knob will turn but the center of the connection will not actuate so you will get no water.

➡ If the machine is not new… Check that the hot water inlet is working

➡ Should the other two resloves not be the answer.. I would suggest the heater
