washing machine will start after a battering

i have a : hotpoint wm63 and no serial number i can find which is strange?.

my issue is the the door needs to be shut some times once sometimes 20 times to get the red light to come on, i always leave it 2 mins between each shutting of the door. i have cone to the conclusion that this is a issue with the metaflex tip zv-445 as when the light comes on the machine is ok and i have taken the lid off and this part nees a few gentle taps when in the curcuit breaker/door closed position and then works fine. do you agree with this if so where can i get a new metaflex tip zv-445 part and the front plate that it conects to so the door lock can work

It will be the door lock, just replace it they are reasonable enough and a very common part 😉
