Washing Machine won’t drain at spin

Hi all,

I have a Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II – American Collection washing machine. It goes through the cycle okay until the last part. It spins, but water is still there when I open the machine.

(I assume it’s going throught the cylce okay, as it’s a top loader, I can’t see the ‘water in’ and ‘water out’, but it appears to be making all the right noises and the clothes do eventually come out clean!!)

I then select spin, where it’ll work the second or third time.

Any ideas?

Have you tried cleaning the filter/s?

Ain’t no filter on an American top loader.

Two possibilities, really, partial blockage or damaged pump. Won’t spin properly until the water had gone. Either way, it’s a casing off and pull the pump job to find out what’s going on.
