ParticipantNew BOSCH WAE28162 was delivered yesterday, I get a call from the Mrs saying she wonders how on earth I plan on fitting it under the worktop! 😮
I turns out it’s to tall to fit under the worktop. Dopey me didn’t think to measure the space prior to ordering the machine.
I could prob force it under there just about, but the top of the machine would be jam solid under the worktop and it’d be almost impossble to ever get it out after that.
I think the feet are as low as possible and I’ve had suggestions from colleagues at work to take the feet off or to remove the top cover to get it under there more comfortably, which both sound a tad dodgy to me. Can any one give any advice please?
Thanks in advance!

If you contact BSH Appliance Care spares dept on 08705 543210 there may be a “tin lid” available instead of the normal lid.
Definately don’t remove either the feet or the lid :nono:

Thanks for the info.
Roughly how much extra room to play with would this give me (if available)?

If there is one available for that model, it is probably no more than 1mm thick.
Obviously you would have to fork out for it though 😉 . Shouldn’t be too expensive though.

I’ve no idea of the thickness of the current lid though. 😕

It’s probably somewhere between 20 and 25mm at a guess.

That would probably be enough to fit.
Is there a reccomended minimum amount of clearance between the lid of a machine and a worktop?

Good guess boro not far out at all. Measured one I have here and it`s 30mm deep.
The reduced height worktop lid is only about 2mm thick, accessory part number WZ2420. If you want to order one click on the spares shop link on the home page.
