Water dispenser Whirlpool s20rbss31-a/g

We bought one of these amervican f/f’s from a trader on ebay. There’s no accompanying paperwork or manuals. I’ve downloaded installation guide and instruction manual from whirlpool website.

I’ve installed it but the water dispenser doesn’t work.

Is there somethin I have to do to activate it? If not is there a common fault or problem?

I appreciate any advice I can get

Just to add that the sound indicates that the pump runs when the dispenser is pushed but no water comes through.

Water seems to arrive at the fridge but not reach the dispenser. Obviously the ice machine doesn’t work either.

Is it time to call an engineer.

I really would like some advice 🙁

there is generally a connection behind front plinth to connect the door to the water check if water is reaching here also when you press the lever for water can you here the water solenoid buzz?

I’m beginning to feel really stupid now.

The cover for the filter won’t move in either direction. I don’t want to force it. Any tips?

As you can tell – I’m not an engineer but a reasonably competent amateur DIYer. Well I used to think so 😳
