Water not draining – Fagor FU-4613

Hi all

I have a problem with our Fagor FU-4613 washing machine.

The tub fills and the wash is completed successfully, but he water doesn’t drain from the tub after the wash – the machine hangs weith an error message stating that there’s a blockage or drainage problem.

These are the symptoms:

Fills OK.
On finishing and beginning the rinse and spin cycles, I can hear a ‘pulsing’ noise like the pump is trying to clear.
The pump filter (bottom rhs front panel ) is clear.
The drain pipes and main drain are clear.
The digital display suggests a blockage.
When taking the pump filter out, the water will drain very slowly, basically a slight dribble. (the water stinks!)

The problem would therefore seem to be with the pump, is there a way I can test for blockages and whether the pump is working as it should?

Hi

If water is not flowing out filter very fast, the tub to pump hose is most likely blocked. So you will need to tilt machine back and check the hose from underneath.

Unplug machine before doing anything on machine.

Cheers Washman, that’s exactly what it was!

I squeezed the tube (*ahem*) but didn’t feel a blockage, but when I removed the tube itself there was a not-very-shiny 50p piece stuck in it.

All now working perfectly. Ta for comments.
