I have a John Lewis JLTDH18 tumble dryer which is made by AEG.
It works well but often clothes are not as dry as they should be. Originally the air filters were always dry after running the dryer but now the compartment has standing water and there is water in the reservoir at the back of the machine.

Up to now, the reservoir has not overflowed and there is always some water in the water drawer at the top of the machine after it has finished its drying cycle.
So it is doing some pumping but just not enough.

I have replaced the float switch (twice) and it has had a new reservoir pump but the problem persists.

Can someone tell me what I am missing, please?

have you checked the pump hose is not partially blocked ?

Thanks Dave. There is a channel inside the machine from the filters at the front of the dryer to the reservoir at the back – which, I guess is equivalent to the pump hose .
I’ve blasted water through it with a Karcher and a great deal of gunk came out. This was a bit drastic but it was the only way I could clear it – and it looks like it has worked.
Hopefully this will have been the cause of the problem and I’ll run a test cycle later today.
Thanks very much for your help.
    Chris
