    Hi Members,

I have Hotpoint Aquarius washing machine, model number WMA 54. The problem with the machine is that she does not drain water during the washing cycle some time. Water leak sometime from soap tray as well. I cleaned the jet seems better now. Some one can kindly advice about water not drains issue. Is it water pump faulty or some kind of blockage in the way of water? Any instruction or help will be appreciated. If you know any web site for help then please let me know.

What did you do to cure what sounds to be the same fault when you posted about this machine two years ago?

    LAST POST 😉

Access to pump and sump hose is behind lower back panel, please make sure you remove the mains plug before you attempt any repair.

self cleaning system on the wma’s so less likely to be a pump failure than it is on front filter washers.

if you feel confident and competent, and want to check for blockage,

    power off, unplug.

either tilt back or to left hand side. in which case get someone else to hold the machine for safety purposes. easier acces from rear panel though

locate central rubber hose that comes down fromt eh middle of the drum.

squeeze the concerteena bit does it feel liek its empty of if theres water in it ? if it feels empty…

get a washing up bowel, position under machine

undo jubilee from rubber hose at the joint to the drum – 7mm socket or large stubby phillips screwdriver

remove “holey cup” from inside rubber hose

clean. if no obstructions or debris in “cup” unclip other end of hose unclip the plastic clamp off pump and check for foreign bodies there too.

if still no sign of fault then you can check to see if the pump impeller is turning by removing pump housing and turning the impella and feeling a clunky resistance. if there isnt any resistance or any impeller (!) it needs replacing.

there are other ways of checking the pump working but thats the safest diy way.

also if your waste hose joins on to a spike instead of a down pipe it might be worth making sure the pea trap and spike is clear!

What I do find amazing is that on one of the many times we asked you to apply for trade access you said you were to busy, yet in the past few weeks you have written chapter and verse in post after post after post. :rolls:

    I’m too busy

I’m sorry but it really is time for us to take our ball home, if you don’t want to join the party that really is up to you but you will never know just what you are missing. 😉

    Jim.

    Diamondpack,
Pull the plug, remove the lower rear cover plate and undo the clamp band on the black hose under the drum. Pull the hose off and empty the filter within. It is possible that a small object can get through the filter into the pump itself, in which case you will need to remove the pump and take the cover off to find the foreign body. If the machine is still full of water, drop the drain hose down into a washing up bowl to drain the machine by gravity first. It’s possible that the pump has failed if it still won’t drain, in which case you’ll need one of THESE.

Re: Water stay in the machine does not drain

First of all my apology for posting reply late; however I removed the drum’s black pipe by removing jubilee clip. I found foreign bodies in the forms of couple of socks. I put back the white ball in the hose and put jubilee clip back to the drum hose. I hope that will cure the problem, my wife did not run the machine yet.
My first post was couple of years ago with identical problem however at that time the reason for leak was door gasket.

I appreciate your help and advice.
    😛
