KeymasterWhile our built-in Diplomat was in the middle of a wash programme the household water supply stopped. [There was a broken mains pipe well away from us.]
However, as it was in the evening, we didn’t realize that there was no water until the dishwasher had paused in its cycle. We had to go away for the weeked and the water was still off when we left the following morning so we opened the door and switched the dishwasher off.
On our return and the reconnection of the water, we switched on the dishwasher, closed the door but nothing happened. I have tried selecting another programme but that does not start either. One light is showing which implies that it is in the middle of a cycle but I can’t get it to resume or restart.
Is there a way to reset it back to normal somehow?
Any help or suggestions would be most welcome.August 15, 2005 at 7:54 am #144884Dave_Conway

It’ll probably need resetting by the sound of it.
Can you post the model number please as Diplomat use a variety of manufacturers to make appliances for them.
It should be around the door somewhere and begin with APL??? AHY??? or similar.
Dave.

Thanks, Dave. The model number is ADP 8221. It is nearly six years old.
There was also a number labelled ‘Type’ – 12034. Hope this helps.Eleanor

This isn’t easy to reset I’m afraid, it involves removing the wooden door and turning the timer manually to the stop position.
If you’re unsure on this, then an engineer will beable to do it for you, check Repairs@ for one, or power off please :zap: if you do it yourself.

Thanks for your reply.
I am not sure myself how to do this but I have a pretty capable husband (engineer by trade) who would be happy to give it a try with a little guidance.

Back again. How do get the wooden door off? Do you need a special tool to remove the black plastic screws at the side?

There’s a little plastic ‘T’ shaped thingy that’s used for this, but you can make do with a small flat headed screwdriver if you’re careful. Loosen, but don’t fully remove, the screws at the bottom of the door to get it off.
